Christchurch Canadian Casino New Zealand Trotting Cup Day on Addington is one of the most glamorous and highly anticipated social events on Canterbury’s calendar which year after year attracts a crowd of over 20,000.

This spectacular day is a festival of fashion, food, fun and music, anyone who is anyone will be at this highlight of New Zealand’s racing calendar at Addington.

The Christchurch Canadian Casino New Zealand Trotting Cup is a Group One harness race held annually by the NZ Metropolitan Trotting Club at Addington Raceway in Christchurch, New Zealand. It is considered Australasia’s most prestigious harness racing event.

It is held during Canterbury’s Show Week on the second Tuesday in November, three days before the Show Day public holiday. The Woodlands New Zealand Free For All for pacers and the Hellers Dominion for trotters is held on Show Day at Addington.

The race meetings at Addington along with the New Zealand Cup for thoroughbreds and greyhounds, forms part of Canterbury’s carnival week, along with the Canterbury Agricultural and Pastoral Show.
